Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Working Group at Northland Pioneer College

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Working Group at Northland Pioneer College (NPC) is both a working and learning group. We value connectedness, educating others, promoting the ideas of DEI, and learning. In order to uphold these values, we agree to address uncomfortable issues as they arise, and to do so with the intention of learning and doing better in the future. The purpose of the DEI Working Group at NPC is to (1) raise institutional awareness, through learning and data collection, of issues of equity and inclusion that impact our college and community; (2) use grassroots efforts to create stronger college community connectedness across historically siloed areas; (3) ensure the integration and interconnected nature of DEI initiatives using the Inclusive Excellence Framework as a model to meet the needs of the college; and (4) take steps toward addressing and correcting DEI issues at an institutional level.
