Kimberly McRae
Biography:
As a member of the Seattle Central College community for the past 20+ years, Dr. Kimberly McRae has worn many professional hats. She started her career as a faculty counselor with TRIO before being hired as a tenured faculty counselor. Over the course of her time at Seattle Central, she has served as Co-president of AFT Seattle Local 1789; led Seattle Central?s Counseling Center restructuring; and was Program Lead for faculty counselors, along with Faculty Program Lead for the Social Service Providers Academy.
Currently, Dr. McRae serves on the Leadership Team for Academy of Rising Educators, where she also is co-Program Planner for ARE?s Culturally Responsive Awareness & Pedagogy Institute Leadership Team; and was Lead Program Planner for Seattle Central?s Umoja Scholars Program. Additionally, Dr. McRae co-chairs Seattle Central?s Black Solidarity Think Tank, which has been instrumental in developing an anti-racist framework for our institution, honoring Seattle Central?s long history of social justice and anti-racist resistance. She is currently the Interim Dean for Student Success at Seattle Central College .
