Emerging Technologies Academy: Innovate, Integrate, Inspire
The Emerging Technologies Academy (ETA) at South Texas College enhances student learning through the integration of emerging technologies into teaching and work processes. The program is led by the Educational Technologies department in collaboration with the Teaching and Learning Center and Human Resources. The objective of ETA is to increase awareness and use of emerging technologies provided and supported by the college, addressing the ongoing challenge of integrating the technologies into the higher education environment. Participants attend four core sessions and three elective sessions to complete the academy. ETA covers technology integration, instructional software, assistive technologies, and immersive learning. Participants engage in a professional learning community to share best practices and experiences. Participants culminate their experience by sharing how they will implement an emerging technology to support their teaching or departmental role. By creating a space to explore, discuss, and develop plans around emerging technologies, ETA enhances student learning experiences and increases digital competency among faculty and staff.
