An Innovative and Effective Approach to Outcomes and Assessment
The Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) at Rogue Community College (RCC) has significantly reshaped the college's approach to assessment by seamlessly integrating it into teaching practices, program review, and strategic goal planning. By bridging previously separate tasks and weaving assessment more directly into annual review activities, the TLC team has shifted the assessment mindset at the institution. This strategic adjustment has not only brought about visible alignments of assessment efforts but has also enabled more effective connections around improvement practices. The team has spearheaded a proactive program review process, ensuring that programs accurately reflect achievements and growth potential. The team’s leadership efforts have garnered commendation in RCC's accreditation review, extending beyond program reviews to encompass significant contributions in assessment and strategic planning. Through workshops, 1:1 training, and comprehensive support, the TLC team fosters an innovative, inclusive culture at RCC, significantly enhancing academic and support programs.
