Leadership in a Post-Pandemic World
What will start as a "TED-style" four-person panel presentation is designed to transition into a robust participant-wide discussion where we will explore what it means to lead an organization through times of existential change. We will look at several strategic frameworks, including the three levels of innovation, so you can evaluate where your institution sits in that continuum. Whitaker and Sygielski will share their strategic roadmaps and recent outcomes from the trenches of a President's office; Alex and Abraham will share what the college enterprise's future will likely look like and how we can prepare our leadership teams to thrive in this "next normal." Come prepared to have your perspective expanded and your thoughts heard in this interactive session.
Matthew Alex, Partner, Beyond Academics, Higher Education Futurist and Strategist; Joe Abraham, Partner, Beyond Academics, Advocate for Servant Leadership and Entrepreneurial Behavior; Christopher L.G. Whitaker, President, Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning; John J. "Ski" Sygielski, President and CEO, Harrisburg Area Community College, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College

Serving the Students of the Pandemic
With community college enrollment down across the country and the number of college-going high school graduates expected to decline in coming years, the need to enroll, retain, and graduate more students has never been greater. This session will offer the latest insights into why we haven’t seen the counter-cyclical enrollment bump many leaders expected and how innovative community colleges are addressing enrollment pressures using student-centric strategies that have been tested by colleges like yours.
