An Open Educational Resources-Based Intermediate Algebra Course
Valencia College’s open educational resources (OER) Intermediate Algebra course was designed to provide a model for other disciplines and colleges to use as they consider creating OER course templates. The team responsible for realizing the Intermediate Algebra course respond to the needs of students and faculty, provide training when needed, and adapt and update course materials to improve the experience on a continuous basis. The innovative course saves the college’s students valuable time and money, allowing them to start each term with the tools they need to succeed—a challenge that has only grown during the COVID-19 pandemic. The OER course improves Valencia’s ability to serve its students and the community with high-quality, no-cost materials.
