Learn to Monetize What You Love

Louisiana Delta Community College’s Business and Technology Chair is always looking for innovative ways of teaching, and his methods create a buzz on campus. To motivate students, he teaches them not only the skills they need, but how to make money using those skills. He also incorporates what students love to do into his teaching strategies to enhance their understanding of core IT principles. For instance, since many of his IT students love to game, he teaches them to use computers to make gaming systems and to build and repair computers. He is also working on adding a multimedia production program which would help people interested in creating their own business to develop social media and podcasting skills to promote and grow their new enterprise. The Chair’s teaching approach is fresh because he consistently changes up how he presents content and engages students. In addition, he faithfully works on his craft of teaching and does a great job of combining his teaching and administrative roles to be an excellent leader for his division.
