Intercultural Teaching and Learning Fellows Program
The Intercultural Teaching and Learning Fellows Program at Carroll Community College seeks to develop a cadre of leaders in the area of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practice and policy while increasing the campus’s collective knowledge about DEI. The Fellows Program provides meaningful ongoing professional learning by leveraging existing campus and community resources, including learning opportunities at local and regional conferences and on-campus reflection sessions. Founded in 2018, the program is based on a community of practice model which has been especially useful in supporting learning around DEI topics that are considered taboo at best, or cause defensiveness and anxiety at worst. During the initial four years of the program, 32 members from across the institution participated, including faculty, Student Affairs staff, and Continuing Education staff.
