2021-2022 Innovation of the Year Award Winner: Butler Community College

Adobe Innovation Initiative

Butler Community College is dedicated to preparing students to not only survive but thrive in a digital economy. Our innovation focuses on digital literacy and fluency among all students, faculty, and staff. The Adobe Initiative gives students and employees free access to more than 60 Adobe assets. A cost-effective solution for students in curricula requiring such tools, it also offers other students timely exposure to technology. Faculty from all academic areas now access the tools and implement modern technologies through class assignments—term papers can become documentaries; book reports can become blogs or video presentations. Ongoing in-person, virtual, and on-demand training and support gives all stakeholders confidence in creating their best work in this digital future. Demand for the Adobe Innovation has been astonishing, with over 80 percent of our licenses distributed and in use. Butler has been officially recognized by Adobe as Kansas’s first and only Adobe Creative Campus, making the college only the 50th institution in the world to be designated as such.
