Bitsy Cohn, Senior Consultant, Higher Education, Cohn Solutions Group
Bitsy Cohn is past Director of Prior Learning for the Colorado Community College System. Prior to this, she worked for 22 years at Front Range Community College in Fort Collins, Colorado, as Director of Learning Opportunity Center Services. She holds a B.A. in English and an M.S. in organizational leadership with a specialization in online teaching and learning. Over the course of a 30-year career, Cohn has gained expertise in adult learning, community college student affairs, postsecondary disability services, at-risk retention strategies, and credit for prior learning assessment. Since retiring from the Colorado Community College System, she has been working as a higher education consultant through her business, Cohn Solutions Group, LLC.
Christine Carpenter, Vice President, Member Engagement, CAEL
Christine Carpenter champions the adult learner and brings together educators, employers, and regions to create solutions that integrate work and learning. She leads CAEL’s various membership programs and initiatives, including CAEL’s membership representing universities, colleges, organizations, employer-education coalitions, the Energy Providers Coalition for Education, and the National Alliance for Communications Technology Education and Learning. Carpenter has over 20 years of experience working with secondary and postsecondary systems. Her areas of expertise include college and career readiness, education-industry partnerships, postsecondary to career alignment, and adult learning. She enjoys bringing together a broad range of stakeholders and partners to help individuals attain meaningful learning, credentials, and work. Carpenter holds a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University and a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Colorado State University with a specialization in strategic innovation and change management.
Shawn Hulsizer, Vice President, Advancement and Impact, CAEL
Shawn Hulsizer oversees product strategy, development, and management of CAEL’s suite of B2B products and services. She creates solutions to help education providers, employers, and regional economies advance lifelong learning opportunities for adults in their pursuit of meaningful work and personal agency over their economic status. Hulsizer joined CAEL in 2008, leading the creation of workforce development strategies and digital solutions focused on increasing awareness of, and job readiness for, the energy, telecommunications, health care, childhood education, bioscience, advanced manufacturing, and petrochemical industries. She is a graduate of University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
