Dr. Marcia Pfeiffer served as President of St. Louis Community College – Florissant Valley from January 2002 to July 2014. In 34 years with STLCC, she served as a faculty member, Associate Dean of Instruction, and Executive Dean at the Florissant Valley campus. She also served as coordinator of the St. Louis Area Tech Prep Consortium for STLCC.
As a registered dietitian, Pfeiffer was a Manager of Residence Hall Foodservice at Southern Illinois University – Carbondale and Patient Services Manager and Assistant Director of Foodservice at St. Louis University Hospital, working for Foodservice Management, Inc.
Since retirement in 2014, Pfeiffer has served as a Leadership Coach for Achieving the Dream. From 2014-2017, she was a Faculty Voices facilitator for the League for Innovation. In this role with the League, she convened meetings of community college faculty across the U.S. to discuss student completion. She also conducted workshops for those interested in improving their group facilitation skills. Pfeiffer has been a speaker and served as facilitator for the Ozarks Technical Community College Chancellor’s Leadership Academy, now transitioned to the Missouri Community College Association Leadership Academy.
Pfeiffer earned a Ph.D. in educational leadership and policy studies from the University of Missouri - St. Louis, master’s degree in institutional management from Kansas State University, and B.S. in foods and nutrition in business (home economics), also from Kansas State University.
