Efficiency Meets Impact: Transforming the High School-to-College Pathway
Rogue Community College’s High School Partnerships department has developed an innovative, highly efficient model for delivering dual enrollment that prioritizes intentional course alignment, streamlined processes, and comprehensive student support. By working closely with high school counselors, the team ensures that students select goal-oriented coursework, avoid credit duplication, and accelerate progress toward college and career pathways. To keep up with local workforce trends, they recruit and certify high school instructors to offer college-credit courses, strategically aligning course offerings so that students can complete program prerequisites and, in some cases, obtain career pathway certificates, at their high schools. This centralized support reduces barriers, increases student confidence, and improves persistence. The approach not only enhances the student experience but also optimizes institutional resources through coordinated service delivery. Scalable and sustainable, the model has drawn interest from peer institutions, positioning the department as a leader in creating effective, results-driven early college pathways.
