Artificial Intelligence Strategy and Governance Council
Hudson County Community College (HCCC) established the Artificial Intelligence Strategy and Governance Council (AISGC), an institutional governance structure for AI that coordinates the college’s response to the rapid emergence of AI across education and the workforce. AISGC aligns academic, technology, and administrative leadership and guides responsible AI adoption across teaching, learning, and operations. The council develops strategy, policy, and technology evaluation to support HCCC’s goal of expanding AI literacy across programs and helping to prepare graduates for an AI-influenced workforce. AISGC’s working groups examine issues such as academic integrity, operational efficiency, professional development, and responsible AI use, developing recommendations and practical guidance for the college community. AISGC supports professional development with cross-disciplinary professional learning communities, workshops, guest speakers, and external training modules. AISGC offers a scalable model for integrating governance, innovation, and professional development to respond strategically to technological change.
