This month, the League for Innovation spotlights a transformative humanities initiative at Anne Arundel Community College. The featured article, “Engaging Students in Applied Humanities: The CLAW Approach at Anne Arundel Community College,” highlights how AACC’s Center for Liberal Arts Work reimagines the humanities as community-rooted conversation. Through discussion-based seminars, service-oriented projects, and cross-disciplinary inquiry, CLAW brings liberal arts learning out of the classroom and into civic life, helping students build critical thinking, community engagement, and intellectual curiosity.
