Comparing Learning Management System Discussion to Packback: Impact on Faculty and Student Outcomes

In fall 2019 and spring 2020, 10 institutions participated in a research study comparing student outcomes on Packback discussion to outcomes found with traditional Learning Management System discussion. In April 2020, Packback released the findings of that study in Impact of Online Discussion Platform and Pedagogy on Student Outcomes. Among the findings from the study, institutions reported increased levels of student engagement, vastly improved discussion rigor, improved final grade outcomes, and high rates of student and faculty satisfaction.
