Sara Edel
Biography:
For education, I have a B.A. in Criminal Justice from St. Cloud State University; a M.A. in Human Resource Development with an emphasis in Adult Education from the University of St. Thomas; and a PhD. in Criminal Justice from University of North Dakota.
For teaching experience, I have been teaching college level peace officer and criminal justice courses since 1995, including Metropolitan State University, the University of St. Thomas, Hamline University, and I am in my 6th year full-time at Century College teaching peace officer and criminal justice courses and I am also the MN Peace Officer Standards and Training Board Professional Peace Officer Education Coordinator.
I thrive to create a learning environment where different perspectives and cultures are valued, engage students to grow as a whole person, adapt my teaching approach and delivery methods to empower students to succeed in a changing world, and integrate culturally responsive examples, assignments, and assessments.
My work experience included 26 years as a MN Licensed Peace Officer working at Preston Police Department, Ramsey County Sheriff's Office, and the MN Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
