Biography:
Professor Kathleen Conley is a Research and Instruction Librarian at Harrisburg Area Community College, where she has been a member of the faculty since 2005. With over 20 years of experience in academic librarianship, she has dedicated her career to advancing student success and information literacy in the community college setting. At Harrisburg Area Community College, Professor Conley has distinguished herself not only as an accomplished librarian but also as an academic leader, having previously served as Library Department Chair for eight years. In this dual role, she has been instrumental in shaping both the strategic direction of library services and the day-to-day support provided to students and faculty across the college's multiple campuses. Professor Conley's approach to library instruction is grounded in a deep commitment to improving the quality of learning experiences for all students. She has been a driving force behind the department's assessment efforts in the area of instruction, developing data collection methods and reporting systems that enable evidence-based decisions about instructional practices. Professor Conley holds a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois. Her undergraduate and graduate studies in philosophy have provided a valuable foundation during a time when the ability to discern credible sources from misinformation is more crucial than ever.
