Gina L. Szabady

 

Biography:
Dr. Gina Szabady is a faculty member at Lane Community College where she teaches writing and serves as the college's technical writer. Whenever possible, Gina enjoys working with staff in Institutional Research to help promote data literacy, carry out student focus groups, and coach faculty undergoing program review. She also serves as the Writing Program Coordinator, a role she has held since 2016. Gina is very involved in college governance and serves on a variety of college and statewide councils and committees; beginning in 2025 she will be the chair of the Oregon Writing and English Advisory Committee (OWEAC). Her research interests include best practices in dual credit, writing program administration, and co-designed curriculum as well as nationalism, post-colonial theory, and the nexus between personal and cultural identity. When she's not working toward continuous improvement at Lane, Gina enjoys dancing to live music as well as spending time with her family and their Jack Russell Terrier gardening, hiking, and camping in the Oregon mountains.
