Kristi Jo Covington
Biography:
Kristi Covington began her career at Porterville College in 2020 in the Disability Resource Center, where she initiated the college?s first month-long Disability Awareness Month activities; now an ongoing tradition. In 2024, Kristi was promoted to Educational Advisor for Outreach and the Rising Scholars Program. In this role, she has been instrumental in developing and streamlining the college's newly adopted recruitment system and assisting with the creation and implementation of tailored student supports for the Rising Scholars Program.
Kristi holds two associate degrees from Porterville College in Liberal Arts & Humanities and Social Sciences, a Bachelor of Social Work from Fresno Pacific University, and is currently pursuing a Master?s in Educational Leadership at UMass Global. A committed leader, she serves on multiple campus and district-wide committees, including the Kern Community College District Strategic Foresight Committee and the Porterville College Caring Campus Committee. In these roles, Kristi has utilized innovative approaches to foster collaboration and drive the development of initiatives that support student success and institutional growth.
As the current CSEA Chapter President for Porterville College, Kristi has utilized innovative strategies to grow and strengthen the chapter in collaboration with the executive board and classified membership. She previously served as Vice President and Secretary, demonstrating her dedication to advancing the interests of classified staff. Kristi?s efforts reflect her commitment to creating inclusive and supportive environments for students and colleagues alike.
Kristi continually brings innovation into her daily work methods, seeking new and effective ways to enhance productivity, foster teamwork, and ensure the success of every initiative she undertakes. Her forward-thinking approach is a cornerstone of her professional growth and her impact on the college community.
