Biography:
Amanda Livingston, MSN, RN, Professor in the School of Nursing, Ivy Tech Community College, Lafayette campus, has moved from a Licensed Practical Nurse earned at Ivy Tech Community College, Lafayette campus, to earning her Bachelors and her Master?s degree at Indiana University of Kokomo. A first-generation college student, Amanda, credits her experience at Ivy Tech with not only preparing her for continued education and her professional growth, but also with providing her the opportunity and resources to build a future for herself and her family. Starting as an adjunct in the School of Nursing, Amanda's commitment to her field led her to become an Instructor in 2022. Her expertise lies in patient mental health and pharmacology, and she channels her passion for these subjects into her teaching, mentoring, and inspiring her students. She encourages her students to work hard to achieve their goals while leading by example. Amanda's dedication to her students' success is evident in their high pass rates on licensing exams. Amanda's commitment to excellence is reflected in her work and teaching. Her exceptional nursing care earned her two nominations for The Daisy Award while employed at Indiana University Arnett Hospital She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, National League for Nursing, the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing, and the Circle of Ivy. Her association with the Circle of Ivy is a testament to the gratitude she feels towards Ivy Tech students, faculty, and her family for their support.
