Biography:
Angel Fonseca is a distinguished educator, facilitator and corporate trainer with over two decades of experience, specializing in technology education, digital marketing, business and eCommerce. Throughout her career, Ms. Fonseca has been involved with bringing emerging technologies to her students and a dedicated to empowering learners with practical skills essential for success in the digital age. Ms. Fonseca?s expertise spans Microsoft and Google cloud computing, digital marketing, web technologies, business, customer service, leadership, search engine optimization (SEO) and eCommerce, enabling her to develop and teach a diverse range of courses. Through project-based learning methodologies, she empowers students, ranging from budding entrepreneurs to seasoned professionals, with practical skills essential for success in the digital era. Beginning as a first-generation college student, Ms. Fonseca's academic journey reflects her perseverance and commitment to continuous learning and innovation. She holds a Master's in Career and Technical Education from Ferris State University, Blockchain Essentials Certificate from Cornell University, as well as dual certification from the Digital Marketing Institute and American Marketing Association. Her excellence in teaching has been recognized with the prestigious NISOD Excellence in Teaching award, further cementing her reputation as a leader in the education field. She has contributed academic discourse, presenting acumens at Higher Learning Commission, Michigan Community College Association, and National Association of Developmental Education. At Jackson College she has served on steering committees of innovative student success initiatives, most recently: 7-week semesters, guided pathways, inclusive textbook adoptions, competency-based education, retention alerts, micro-credentialing, and badging. In addition, she has applied her comprehensive understanding of emerging technologies and curriculum development as a member of the Jackson College Curriculum Committee for more than 10 years. Prior to her tenure as a professor, Ms. Fonseca has held key administrative positions, including Chief of Staff to the President at Jackson College. In this capacity, she provided essential support to the college's leadership, overseeing administrative operations, budget planning, and project management while also supporting the Board of Trustees. Her strategic leadership and collaborative approach enhanced communication channels both within the institution and with external stakeholders, bolstering the College's reputation and community engagement efforts. Beyond her professional endeavors, Ms. Fonseca is deeply committed to community service. She has served as President of the Northwest Athletic Boosters and Treasurer of the Jackson Northwest Little League, demonstrating her dedication to supporting youth development and academic excellence in the community.
