Dr. Kristina C. Alcozer Garcia is a dedicated higher education professional and researcher with a strong commitment to student engagement and success. With a passion for supporting first-generation college students, she explores the experiences of commuter students and their sense of belonging on college campuses. Her research focuses on Latinx college student leadership development, cultural values clashing, and campus racial climate. As the Associate Vice President for Teaching, Learning, and Student Development at Elgin Community College, Dr. Garcia works to create inclusive, student-centered learning environments that promote equity and academic achievement.
