Biography:
I took an unexpected path to higher education after spending 25 years in the U.S. Navy. During my military career, I had the privilege of traveling to numerous countries, immersing myself in diverse cultures, and building meaningful friendships along the way. These experiences showed me how different perspectives and cultural traditions broaden our understanding of the world, highlighting the significance of empathy, collaboration, and lifelong learning.
After retiring from the Navy, I returned to my hometown and was hired as the GED Chief Examiner and adjunct faculty member at Rogue Community College. It wasn?t long before I realized that students, much like Sailors, thrive with the right guidance and support, and I knew I had found my second career in education.
In 2019, I became the Outcomes and Assessment Coordinator, where I lead initiatives to improve institutional effectiveness through data-driven strategies. My work includes developing and implementing assessment plans, analyzing student learning outcomes, and ensuring alignment with accreditation standards. I also collaborate with faculty to enhance teaching practices, driving continuous improvement and fostering student success.
