Biography:
I?ve spent my career supporting educators and driving improvement in education. I started as an ESL teacher in high school, where I worked with diverse students and focused on making education more accessible for English Learners. Later, I transitioned to an instructional coach, where I helped teachers improve their practice, develop effective strategies, and create inclusive classrooms.
I then worked with the Oregon Education Association as an improvement coach in the Educator Empowerment Academy, where we used improvement science principles to help educators address challenges and refine their practices through data-driven strategies. This role deepened my understanding of how small, targeted changes can lead to meaningful improvements in education.
Following this, I joined NWEA, a non-profit at the time that focused on assessments and professional learning for K-12 educators. There, I worked developed workshops that guided educators to use real-time assessment data to inform and adapt instructional strategies, ensuring that teaching meets the evolving needs of each student.
Currently, I serve as the Outcomes and Assessment Specialist at Rogue Community College, where I support continuous improvement processes across the institution. My work involves collaborating with faculty to ensure assessments align with learning outcomes, helping the college reflect on and enhance student learning at multiple levels.
