Marco Torrez-Miranda

 

Biography:
Marco (he/him/his) is a licensed psychotherapist and substance use disorder specialist in Wisconsin. He earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and is currently a doctoral candidate in Student Affairs Administration and Leadership focused on social justice and equity in higher education at the University of Wisconsin at La Crosse. His experience has centered on developing interventions and programming to increase access and engagement toward a sense of belonging. He has more than fifteen years of experience in the behavioral health and higher education field as a clinician, clinical supervisor, mentor, consultant, program director, faculty member, and administrator. Most recently, Marco served as Faculty and Director of the Human Services Program at Madison College and was appointed to the inaugural role of Faculty Director for the newly established Institute for Equity & Transformational Change (IETC) at Madison College in the Spring of 2021. The IETC engages faculty and staff within Academic Affairs to promote, study, and implement equity-based and anti-racist practices to create an inclusive and affirming learning Madison College community.
