Work Experience SAN JACINTO COLLEGE, 13735 Beamer Rd., Houston, TX 77089, 1989-present. San Jacinto College District Honors Program Director, 2013-present, revived the program after the numbers shrank from 300 students on South campus to less than 100 students across the three campuses; today program has more than 1000 students (1300 pre-pandemic); led push for undergraduate research with thirty students a year presenting at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) each of the past several years; developed international travel tied to a course for the first time at San Jacinto College. Department Chair, Social Sciences Department, 2002-2004, 2010-2011, led twelve full-time faculty and more than thirty adjunct faculty, scheduling classes, overseeing budget, and growing enrollment. Department Chair Behavioral Sciences, Social Sciences and Education 2011-2013 after internal department problems, the Behavioral Science and Education department asked the provost to combine our departments. Duties were similar but with twenty-two full time faculty and more than sixty adjunct faculty. South Campus Honors Program: Wrote the proposal for the honors program on the South campus and served as the founding director, 1996-2006; wrote proposal to take the Honors program district-wide, 2006; co-developed and co-taught the interdisciplinary Honors American History/English courses, 1997-2017; served as a faculty member on the Honors Council.
