Trisha Wilging
Biography:
Trisha Wilging serves as an Associate Professor in the Reading and Teacher Preparation Department. She began her work at LBCC in 2014 as a Part-Time faculty member and was hired full time in 2015. She loves teaching Academic Reading, and she especially loves to see her students grow and apply what they learn in her course to their other coursework and beyond the classroom. She currently serves as the Student Learning Outcomes (SLO) Coordinator, as well. In this role, she has endeavored to make connections and to build a culture of inquiry around SLO work. Her hope is to shift the SLO conversation away from compliance and toward meaningful discussions about teaching and equitable learning. Throughout her time at LBCC, she has also served as the chair of the ASLO subcommittee, as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Academic Senate, and has participated in the Cultural Curriculum Audit (the College's key equity seminar). Other committee service includes Curriculum, Department Plan/Program Review, Academic Council, College Planning Council, and Student Success. Recently, she began pursuing a post-graduate diploma in Trauma Studies with the University College Cork, Ireland. Both at work and in her personal life, faith, family, and her church community drive and sustain her.
