Elizabeth Smith
Biography:
Professor Elizabeth Smith, MSW, LCSW-C, has worked in substance use disorder education, forensic social work, gerontological social work, and end of life care and education. Currently she is an Assistant Professor in Human Services Counseling at the Community College of Baltimore County where she serves as Lead Faculty for the Opioid Impacted Family Support Program. She is the former Clinical Director of St. Mary?s Outreach Center and had the privilege of serving as a panel social worker in both defense mitigation and gerontological cases for the Office of the Public Defender. She has presented at national conferences and throughout her home state of Maryland. Interdisciplinary education is an important aspect of her teaching approach and working with the OIFSP student cohorts allows her to blend real time work experiences for pre-clinical roles in substance use disorder treatment and clinical educational experiences for our students.
