Lisa Gdowski currently serves as Director of Financial Aid of Central Community College ? Columbus campus. She has served in this capacity for 24 years and has volunteered for many committees and student organizations. Gdowski received her bachelor?s degree from The University of Nebraska at Kearney (1998) with a major in business administration; her master?s degree from Wayne State College (2007) in counselor education/student affairs practice in higher education. Gdowski has received numerous awards and recognition, including the Distinguished Service Award from the Nebraska Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, where she is currently serving on the board of directors as treasurer. She has received the Paragon Award for New Advisors, Distinguished Advisor Award, and Continued Excellence Advisor Award while serving as the lead advisor for the Chi Sigma Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa: International College Honor Society. As Phi Theta Kappa advisor, she impacted many students and encouraged growth in Leadership, Service, Scholarship, and Fellowship. The Chi Sigma Chapter earned numerous regional and international awards under her leadership. Gdowski has held membership and served on the board in numerous local, state, and national organizations, including the American Legion Auxiliary, board of directors; the Columbus Chapter of TeamMates Mentoring Program, board of directors; the American Youth Soccer Organization board of directors; Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society: the Nebraska Association of Student Financial aid Administrators, board of directors; the Rocky Mountain Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, board of directors; and the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, where she has earned the FAAC designation-Certified Financial Aid Administrator. While working at Central Community College, Gdowski encourages the culture of community college students and works to maximize student and community success through educational programs.
