Courtney Mlinar
Biography:
Courtney Mlinar currently serves as the Head Librarian for the Elgin Campus Library, Austin Community College, in addition to her full time role as Faculty Librarian/Professor and Copyright Officer for the college. Courtney is the co-coordinator for the Belonging, Joy, and Engagement Group at ACC. She also serves on the Faculty Center for Learning Innovation Committee, and the Library Services Chair of the Faculty Evaluation Revision Workgroup. She collaborated with ACC Faculty Development to co-create the Teaching & Learning Academy and Department Chair Academy. She co-leads ACC faculty and staff training and programs on using AI for teaching, learning, and productivity flow. She is past leader of the Instructive Reference and Information Literacy teams, and past administrator for ACC LibGuides and LibCal. She created a partnership with Student Affairs in both the study room reservation system and the Student Life Event process. She is the author of the book, Embedded and Empowered: A Practical Guide for Librarians, which has been named a Doody Core Title in 2023, 2024, and 2025. She was awarded the ACC Award for Faculty Leader of the Year in 2023. She was named an Honored Listee to Marquis Who's Who 2024.
