AI Ethics Professional (AIEP) Certification

Fall 2026

The credential for the leaders shaping ethical AI in higher education.

Seven live sessions move senior leaders from abstract principle to defensible institutional action—and every graduate leaves with two credentials.

The problem: Your institution is deploying AI faster than it is governing it. When the difficult question arrives—from a student, a reporter, an accreditor—"we're still discussing it" is not an answer.

The transformation: Through live discussion, hands-on practicums, and a capstone Institutional Plan, you'll map your institution's AI ethics landscape in a dedicated AI Ethics Mapping Session, apply ethical frameworks to real decisions, practice facilitating your own AI Ethics Workshop, operationalize privacy and student rights, and design Minimum Viable Governance your cabinet can actually adopt. Grounded in the Bot/Agent/Human taxonomy, AWARE, and the nine AI Ethics Cards—anchored in the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights, the UDHR, and the European Convention on Human Rights.

The dual badge: AIEP plus the Certified Facilitator credential to host AI Ethics Cards workshops on your own campus. You don't just get governed—you become the person who can build governance capacity in others.

Key Outcomes

For leaders whose decisions, policies, and signatures shape how AI lands inside the institution.

What you'll leave with:

  • Two credentials: the AIEP digital badge, and a Certified Facilitator credential for the AI Ethics Cards
  • An Institutional AI Ethics Plan, defended before a faculty panel and built to run in your first 90 days
  • The nine-card AI Ethics deck, plus a license to print up to 50 participant decks per workshop on your campus
  • Five workshop blueprints with scripts, slides, handouts, timing, and debrief guides
  • A digital toolkit: the AWARE Workbook, the MVG Implementation Guide, audit templates, vendor rubrics, and communication scripts
  • A library of twenty-plus higher education ethics cases with discussion guides
  • A completed bias audit, governance charter draft, and stakeholder communication plan
  • A 60-minute advisory session with an SBDG strategist after certification

What you'll be able to do:

  • Spot ethical risk at every stage, from buying a system to monitoring it after launch
  • Design a governance structure sized to what your institution can actually sustain
  • Audit an AI system for fairness using both standard metrics and the nine-card protocol
  • Run AI Ethics Cards workshops on your own campus, credentialed to do it
  • Question vendor claims, contracts, and demos with a rubric instead of a hunch
  • Move your institution from principle to practice before an incident forces the question
