In the sixteenth issue of The Cross Papers, Penny Kuckkahn focuses on social media as a tool for teaching and learning. Her Framework for Developing Social Collaboration is rooted in familiar education theory, such as Bandura, Vygotsky, and Chickering and Gamson, and applied to some of the newest venues for social interaction. Like other monographs in the series, this paper includes the theoretical and research base of the topic, as well as numerous practical techniques for engaging students in active learning.
