Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida is seeking a Equal Opportunity Officer and Title IX Coordinator.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President and General Counsel, the Equal Opportunity Officer and Title IX Coordinator (EOO) is pivotal in developing and leading the implementation of a College-wide process to ensure compliance with civil rights discrimination laws and regulation, with an emphasis on Title IX programming and adherence.

Operating both independently and collaboratively across all College locations, the EOO may need to occasionally work evenings and weekends to accomplish objectives. Additionally, some travel is required to participate in professional organizations and conferences, and the EOO is required and expected to be available by phone, text message, or e-mail by using a cell phone to respond to work-related issues whenever necessary or when assigned.

Responsibilities and Duties
Receives and reviews all complaints falling under the purview of College Rule 2.8: Prohibition Against Discrimination and Harassment, Title IX, and related rules, regulations, and laws.
Conducts and coordinates prompt and thorough investigations and prepares formal, written reports.
Stays abreast of current and emerging regulatory obligations, identifies areas of institutional risk, and develops plans of action for ensuring College rules and standard operating procedures are in compliance with federal Title IX, equal opportunity/civil rights compliance laws and regulations.
Assists in research and management of College’s equal opportunity program, including preparation of reports and audit responses related to substantive areas of responsibility.
Prepares position statements, reports, and responses to complaints and requests for information and serves as the College’s representative in external fact-finding conferences, mediations, and other administrative proceedings.
Oversees the development and implementation of training and professional development on Title IX, equal employment opportunity, and civil rights laws, with an emphasis on prevention.
Maintains effective collaborative working relationship with College employees, students and the outside community, including but not limited to the Student Ombudsperson, the Human Resources Office, the Counseling Center, the Disabilities Resource Center, the SF Police Department and Victim Advocate, and the Student Conduct Office.
Creates and oversees system of Deputy Title IX Coordinators and supervises Deputy Title IX Coordinators and investigators.
Maintains a high level of confidentiality with the utmost discretion and sensitivity.
Maintains accurate and thorough investigatory files and reports.
Assists with Clery reporting and compliance.
Assists with ADAAA related issues for employees.
Provides service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Reports to: Senior Vice President, Chief of Staff, and General Counsel
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and at least four (4) years of professional experience in civil rights, Title IX, ADAAA compliance and assistive technologies, higher education, psychology/counseling, human resources, and/or a combination of education and experience equal to eight (8) years.
Prior experience in conducting and successfully completing investigations.

Additional Qualifications:
A criminal background check will be conducted.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience developing and presenting training workshops for faculty, staff, and students, with a focus on higher education, specifically Title IX compliance and investigations.
Familiarity with higher education law and administration.
Prior supervisory experience.
Prior legal training, including paralegal experience or court experience.
