Audrene Kerr-Brown

 

Biography:
Audrene Kerr-Brown has been a Professor at Humber College since 2004. During this time, she has specialized in the teaching of Psychology and Criminology at both Humber College and the University of Guelph Humber. She currently serves as a Program Coordinator in the General Arts and Sciences Department within the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She is also in the process of completing a doctorate in Psychology with a focus on the phenomenon of mattering and its implications for academic achievement among college students. Audrene received Humber?s Distinguished Faculty Award in 2023 and is one of the 2023-2024 League of Excellence Awardees. Beyond her academic roles, Audrene has served on several faculty committees throughout the years. In addition, she co-pioneered an International Study Abroad program, and served as the inaugural Co-Chair of Humber?s Black/African Employee Resource Group for which she is now a board member. She is the current Chair of the FLAS Equity Diversity Inclusion and Belonging Committee which superintended Humber?s first cohort hire, and onboarding and mentorship initiatives. Audrene is passionate about the classroom but is also passionate about community engagement. She has served as a community volunteer and advocate for many years, with specific focus on social justice issues pertaining to access and equity.
