Dr. Lara Hernandez Corkrey has been teaching at Moraine Valley Community College since 2011. Currently, she serves as Department Chair of Developmental Education and Coordinator of Developmental Communication. Dr. Hernandez Corkrey completed her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in English at Northern Illinois University and her Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition Theory at The University of Kansas. In 2024, Dr. Hernandez Corkrey was chosen as Master Educator of the Year at Moraine Valley.
