My philosophy in education is that I should be a facilitator for my students, utilizing their learning styles and using individualized instruction to meet their needs. I give my students real-world applications for their skills, helping them to understand why they are learning a concept. For my GED students, I took them on tours of GCCC so they could see educational opportunities for themselves beyond earning their high school diplomas. I invited guest speakers into our classroom: President of GCCC, Vice President of Student Services, Student Support Services (TRIO) Director, Migrant Program Coordinator, Kansas Workforce Center representatives.
