Heather Stoner

 

Biography:
Heather Stoner is a Physical Therapist Assistant and educator since 2013 at Sinclair Community College in Dayton Ohio. As an educator, Heather is a promoter of Interprofessional Education within the division of Health Science. Heather has collaborated with educators from multiple disciplines including occupational therapy assistant, nursing, early childhood education, respiratory therapy, mental health and addiction services, social worker, and dietary and nutrition services to create multiple interprofessional education activities and events that promote communication and teamwork. Heather also collaborates with the Health Science Simulation Center to create high fidelity simulations that prepare students for the clinical world. This includes simulations working in the ICU, treating patients with wounds, and Emergency Situations in the homecare environment. In addition to her work with Interprofessional Education and Simulation Heather is also the Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education for the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Sinclair. In that role, Heather works with the clinical partners to place students on clinical rotations in practice settings that are contemporary to clinical practice.
