Biography:
Jordan is the program director of the Polysomnography and Neurodiagnostic Technology programs at Alvin Community College. Jordan is a proud graduate of the ACC polysomnography program, and has been a registered sleep technologist for the past 10.5 years. My journey includes earning a bachelor's degree in healthcare education, and I've dedicated the past 10 years to educating others at ACC. In my personal life, I've been happily married to my husband, an Air Force veteran turned law enforcement professional, for 12.5 years. Together, we're raising three wonderful children - Lincoln (9), Jackson (8), and Madison (2). Our family also includes two lovable dogs, a great dane, and a german shepherd. Having grown up in Texas, I pursued my passion for dance at the performing arts high school in Houston and later at the Boston Conservatory. While I loved Boston, an injury redirected my path back home. Uncertain about my next steps, I found my calling at ACC. Initially aiming for nursing, I discovered my true passion in the Polysomnography program. Over the course of an exciting ten-year journey as a registered sleep technologist, Jordan has significantly advanced the field, particularly within the realm of higher education. Her extensive experience encompasses roles as a registered sleep technologist, clinical coordinator of the Polysomnography program at Alvin Community College, and nine years in the education sector. Through roles as an instructor, clinical coordinator, and now program director, Jordan has wholeheartedly committed herself to shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals, providing them with the essential knowledge and skills for success in this ever-evolving field. Jordan's contributions have not gone unnoticed. She has received grants for innovative teaching in the Polysomnography and Neurodiagnostic Technology programs, presented at the BRPT annual conference and the Texas Society of Sleep Professionals annual meeting. Yet, her journey extends far beyond the confines of classrooms and clinics. Jordan is deeply passionate about first responder peer support, crisis intervention, and critical incident stress management. These roles have provided her with invaluable insights into the challenges faced by both practitioners and their families, highlighting the importance of balance, resilience, and well-being in their lives.
