In addition to individual meetings, I teach a career exploration class where students explore their personal identity, education and training options, and career options within the world of work. It is always interesting to see how academic, career, and personal concerns and explorations intersect in the community college setting. Learning to approach this work with culturally responsive and trauma informed practice, along with cross-department collaboration, has enhanced my ability to meet diverse student goals and needs.
