As Director of Student Counseling and Prevention Education Services at Central Community College, Luz Colon-Rodriguez, LIMHP led efforts for CCC to be recognized as an Exemplary member of the Nebraska Collegiate Prevention Alliance (NECPA), earning a bronze-level designation for the College. Since then, Luz has joined the NECPA State Advisory Board. NECPA works collaboratively to develop strategies for reducing and preventing high-risk drinking and substance use among Nebraska college students. Luz and her team were also instrumental in hosting the Nebraska Counseling Association Fall 2023 Conference on Rural Mental Health held at the Hastings Campus of Central Community College. Additionally, she has presented workshops on mental health at the Siembra Nebraska Conference and at the Nebraska Hispanic Latino Youth Summit for college and work bound students.
