Clearinghouse for Community Colleges
Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education's Office
of Educational Research and Improvement (OERI) and the
National Library of Education, the ERIC network consists
of 16 subject-specific clearinghouses, five adjunct clearinghouses,
and four support components which collect and disseminate
information on specialized fields in education. The ERIC
Clearinghouse for Community Colleges is located at the
University of California, Los Angeles.
Center for Emerging Technologies
The mission of the Northwest Center for Emerging Technologies
is to advance Information Technology (IT) education to
improve the supply, quality, and diversity of the IT workforce
by preparing and educating the versatile knowledge workers
of the future.
Association of Community Colleges
The American Association of
Community Colleges is the primary advocacy organization
for the nation's 1100 two-year degree granting institutions.
The Association is a nonprofit organization located in
the National Center for Higher Education in Washington,
AACC's Weekly Newspaper reporting on Community College
for Occupational Research and Development (CORD)
The Center for Occupational Research and Development (CORD)
is a nonprofit public-service organization dedicated to
helping educators in schools and industry address the
technical education, training and retraining needs of
workers -- today and tomorrow.
Consortium voor Innovatie [In Dutch]
The Dutch version of the League for Innovation was formed
more than three years ago. It includes eight colleges
and is well known as a force for innovation in Holland.
Look for information about the Dutch IT Conference and
other important activities.
Educom offers leadership and
assistance to its member institutions in order to address
critical issues surrounding the role of information technology
in higher education.
Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD)
NISOD is the outreach organization of the Community College
Leadership Program, in the Department of Educational Administration,
College of Education, at The University of Texas at Austin.
The TLT Group, a nonprofit corporation,
is the Teaching, Learning, and Technology Affiliate of
The American Association for Higher Education (AAHE).
The TLT Group's mission is to motivate and enable institutions
and individuals to improve teaching and learning with
technology, while helping them cope with continual change.
Council for Continuing Education & Training (NCCET)
The National Council for Continuing Education & Training
(NCCET) is a nonprofit organization which primarily serves
public community colleges. NCCET provides leadership for
continuing education, community service, workforce development,
and distance learning professionals. The Council
is committed to continuous quality improvement and to
quality service as a change agent for lifelong learning.
Council for Occupational Education
The National Council for Occupational Education is a private,
nonprofit, professional organization committed to promoting
excellence and growth in occupational education. As an
affiliate council of the American Association of Community
Colleges (AACC), NCOE provides a national forum for workforce
and economic development professionals to affect and direct
the future of work-related education globally, and the
role of two-year colleges in this arena.
National Community College Chair Academy (NCCCA)
Created in 1990 for the purpose of advancing academic
leadership for community and technical college chairs,
deans, and other instructional leaders, the Academy was
formed in direct response to the acutely limited leadership
training opportunities for community & technical college
department and division chairs. The Chair Academy focuses
on preparing these academic leaders for their dual role
as manager and administrator on the one hand and faculty
member/advocate on the other.

Microsoft's Higher Education site features a web page
devoted strictly to community college issues that features
articles, model programs, news about training and certification,
special grants and offers, new technology solutions, and
links to other community college web sites.
This page contains links to
pages created by faculty worldwide who are using the Web
to deliver class materials. For example, you will find
course syllabi, assignments, lecture notes, exams, class
calendars, multimedia textbooks, etc.
This web site brings together
distance education information and resources from Wisconsin,
national and international sources. The Distance Education
Clearinghouse is a service provided by the University
of Wisconsin-Extension. Updated frequently.
Telecommunications Council (ITC)
ITC, is a national, nonprofit
organization that represents postsecondary educational
institutions that are involved in distance learning. An
affiliated council of the American Association of Community
Colleges, ITC represents over 500 educational institutions
from across the United States and Canada. Members include
community colleges, four-year institutions, nonprofit
and for-profit organizations, and individuals. You will
find information about grant opportunities and national
legislation that will affect distance educators, as well
as research reports, periodicals, abstracts and articles
about distance learning topics.

for online teaching and learning. Learners can access
courses from a variety of educational institutions and

of "On the Horizon, The Strategic Planning Resource
for Education Professionals," sponsored by Jossey-Bass
and the University of North Carolina. On the Horizon will
be published, starting in January 02, by MCB
University Press. It will be expanded in size and
scope and supported by the Emerald services of MCB and
its 130+ publications. The site contains on-line versions
of current and past issues as well as links to a host
of education-related resources.
Department of Education Publications
The U.S. Department of Education
