The MCC Foundation is located at 1057 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, New York. The Donor Engagement Coordinator is responsible for supporting and executing events and developing publications and marketing materials in support of Monroe Community College. The successful candidate will facilitate the planning and implementation of the Foundation’s signature fundraising events and various engagement opportunities on and off campus. Additionally, the Donor Engagement Coordinator will support the Foundation’s marketing and communications initiatives and other strategies to build and maintain relationships with alumni, benefactors and prospects. Reporting to the Associate Director of Donor Engagement, the Donor Engagement Coordinator is part of a dynamic team that works to enhance private philanthropic support for MCC.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Execute the Foundation’s signature events, including the Gold Star Gala, Scholarship Open, Cabin Fever and Salute to Excellence with specific fundraising, donor development and stewardship goals
  • Coordinate on and off campus engagement opportunities including but not limited to College and University Days, ROC the Day, Scholars’ Day, grand openings, gift announcements, etc.
  • Execute marketing and communication initiatives, including social media, e-newsletters, and print publications
  • Support and manage committee meetings, provide direction for volunteers, and assist in generation of regular updates and progress reports
  • Participate as a full member of the Foundation’s advancement team including professional development activities and staff meetings
  • Prepare prospect profiles for the Associate Director of Donor Engagement
  • Participate in the planning and development of annual fundraising goals and objectives
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets for assigned projects
  • Prepare and analyze reports of activities and programs; track and monitor pledges, gifts, and special events results
  • Work with Donor Engagement team to develop and recommend policies, procedures and standards to enhance special events and communication with the Foundation
  • This position functions primarily during normal business hours, with occasional evening and weekend activities
  • All other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Earned associate degree from a regionally accredited higher education institution
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to create efficient systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior computer skills, including high proficiency in: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; expected to learn and use the database and reporting software program for development (Raisers Edge)
  • Detail-oriented, energetic self-starter with a positive and enthusiastic outlook
  • Vision to plan ahead, take initiative and set and adhere to deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task and to work collaboratively with others in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with a diverse audience of alumni and donors
  • Consistently demonstrates the ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as re-prioritizing work as necessary
  • Provides excellent customer service
  • This position is highly mobile within the Rochester region and requires reliable personal transportation


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Earned bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited higher education institution
  • One or more years’ experience in a comprehensive development program including stewardship/donor relations, event management, non-profit fundraising or related responsibilities
  • Experience in budget and volunteer management
  • Development experience with increasing responsibilities in an academic setting or with a public entity
  • Experience with social media and other web-related communication tools
  • Experience with Raisers Edge
