Function of Position:

The IT Project Coordinator reports directly to the Title III MCC APPLIED Project Director and provides technical project management and support for a new innovative initiative to integrate student technology at the college. The college has received a $2.25 million, five-year Title III grant, MCC APPLIED, funded through the Department of Education. The project involves supporting systems that ensure students will confirm active career pathway and engage in high impact practices. Goals of the project include an increase of college-level math and English completion, as well as credential completion through targeted academic advising and holistic assistance, supported by integrated technology. The model is designed to decrease student loan default rates by integrating student career and financial plans with academic pathway planning, and promote financial literacy through understanding financial outcomes of careers and implications of student debt. Integrated technology will provide students with a curated view in order to support the guided pathways model.

The IT Project Coordinator is responsible for the vision, design, development, implementation, and operationalization of the new systems integration technology platform. They develop and support an integrated student technology view that provides the student the essential information for their enhanced academic plan, career plan, and financial plan. This position is funded through a Title III SIP for the duration of the grant cycle. The position will be retained by Monroe Community College at the conclusion of the grant award.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible to coordinate the integration of technology
Development and implementation of the technology integration plan
Manage business and technical requirements-gathering and fit gap analysis
Coordinate cross-team collaboration on scope and solution definition
Coordinate the technical solution work in partnership with vendor(s) and MCC internal staff
Acquire and implement integrated platform or other required equipment and software, in partnership with Technology Services and Instructional Technologies
Actively manage and communicate project progress, and promptly escalate issues to ensure the project stays on plan
Create and implement comprehensive user training and testing plans
Stays current on regulatory requirements and best practices including information security and ADA accessibility to ensure technology solutions are compliant
Establish good working relationships with college stakeholders
Ensure communication among all constituencies to ensure college-wide participation
Analyze, describe, and summarize results for grant reporting requirements
Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned by the MCC APPLIED Project Director

Required Qualifications:

Earned bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution; OR military training in a computer technology field
Experience with systems integration and/or information technology coordination
Ability to navigate, understand and translate both business and technical requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

Higher education experience
Knowledge of various software systems including student information systems, course management systems, early intervention systems, and communication relationship management systems
3 years' experience with systems integration or equivalent of education and experience successfully managing the integration of vendor systems/solutions with each other for a seamless user experience.
Evidence of commitment to the philosophy of a comprehensive community college

Excellent writing and oral communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and in a team setting, multi-task and prioritize workflow in order to meet deadlines
