Information Technology Specialist (Temporary/Grant sponsored)
The college has received a $2.25 million, five-year Title III grant, MCC APPLIED, funded through the Department of Education. The project involves implementing and supporting systems that ensure students will confirm active career pathway and engage in high impact practices. Goals of the project include an increase of college-level math and English completion as well as credential completion through targeted academic advising and holistic assistance supported by integrated technology. The model is designed to decrease student loan default rates by integrating student career and financial plans with academic pathway planning and promote financial literacy through understanding financial outcomes of careers and implications of student debt. Integrated technology will provide students with a curated view in order to support the guided pathways model.
The IT Specialist is responsible for technical development and post-implementation support of the new MCC systems integrated technology platform. The IT Specialist reports directly to the Title III MCC APPLIED Project Director, has a dotted line to the Technology Services Chief Information Officer and provides technical support for a new innovative initiative to integrate student technology at the college.
-Executes project work plans, including (but not limited to) design, development/configuration, data/database management, testing, documentation, and end user training
-Support the development of the technology integration plan
-Respond to and support the goals/objectives as described in the Title III grant
-Gather and analyze data
-Recommends optimization of available system features
-Provides ongoing technology maintenance and support, including but not limited to upgrades, enhancements and database support
-Troubleshoots system issues and problems
-Research and analyze user requirements and make recommendations on systems/ technology solutions
-Actively participates on projects, including the development of timeline/schedule, work plan, and vendor/consultant engagement
-Coordinates and maintains system compliance to standards including accessibility (ADA) and cybersecurity controls
-Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned by the Project Director
-Responsible for adhering to the College Code of Conduct

-Commitment to professional growth
-Bachelor's Degree OR military training in a computer technology field OR an equivalent of education and demonstrated technical experience successfully integrating vendor systems/solutions with for a seamless user experience.
-Strong database and scripting experience
-Ability to navigate, understand, and translate both business and technical requirements.
-Higher Ed experience
-Experience integrating enterprise systems (Banner, Blackboard, Starfish, DegreeWorks, Civitas, etc.)
-Familiarity with a wide variety of applications at the cloud, server, and user level.
-Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
