Who You Are

As the Assistant Director, you are responsible for the oversight of Student Services activities and initiatives for the College Now department, including coordination of testing and accommodations services for concurrent enrollment students, along with focused attention on oversight, planning and implementation of matriculation efforts. In this role, you are is responsible for high school counselor trainings and education, student orientations and programming, and initiatives that will encourage students’ connection to FRCC and our support services. As the Assistant Director, you are accountable for training and supervision of Concurrent Enrollment Representatives.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Direct, plan, implement and evaluate Student Services for College Now students

Provide oversight of all Larimer Campus concurrent enrollment administration in the Director's absence.
Develop initiatives and processes to facilitate student onboarding, enrollment, registration, advising and matriculation processes for concurrent enrollment students that is consistent with campus-based programs.
Collaborate with FRCC Student Services departments and Deans to provide leadership on the development of effective strategies, policies, and procedures that promote student success in the concurrent enrollment student population.
Research and develop effective matriculation efforts for concurrently enrolled students.
Maintain knowledge of the curricula for FRCC degrees, certificates, courses, and information relevant to concurrent enrollment student pathways and degree/certificate completion.
Coordinate support for student issues (including, for example, disabilities and accommodations, poor academic progress, and Code of Conduct violations) between FRCC Student Services and home high school counseling and special education staff.
Assist with the implementation of student messaging via the college’s Recruit, Navigate, and other systems to focus on matriculation, in collaboration with the whole concurrent enrollment team.
Carry out CE representative tasks as needed.
Build and maintain relationships with counseling and administration staff at partner high schools

Assist faculty in effectively working with students with disabilities and students of concern.
Facilitate student-faculty meetings, where appropriate, to resolve serious concerns and/or complaints.
Represent the department on FRCC initiatives and/or committees

Serve as department representative to the Student Affairs Leadership Team.
Collaborate with Admissions & Outreach and Advising departments to develop and implement strategies to increase matriculation.
Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate Concurrent Enrollment Representatives

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

Leadership skills: Serve as Student Affairs expert on the College Now team, and lead process and practice improvements to ensure students are supported to achieve success.
Interpersonal skills: Develop strong professional relationships with students, staff and community partners in the schools we serve.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion skills: Work with individuals and groups with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Develop resources and supports for College Now students to ensure that they have a sense of belonging. Committed to serving diverse learners during their educational journey to support them in achieving their personal and academic goals.
Supervisory & leadership skills: Provide training, guidance and direction to CE Representatives on the team.
Technology skills: Adept with computer technologies, especially Microsoft Office and Banner software.
Self-motivation skills: Take initiative to engage and manage student affairs caseload using all available tools, prioritizing workload, and demonstrating ability to problem solve independently and as part of a team.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE:

Master’s degree and three or more years’ experience in concurrent enrollment or related field.
Demonstrated increasingly responsible professional experience that includes significant oversight of student service functions, knowledge of secondary education processes, higher education matriculation, and post-secondary compliance.
Knowledge of supervision of staff.
