Spotlight on the Website: Learning Abstracts
The Learning Abstracts series was launched in 1998 to foster continuing conversations on the Learning College movement and to chronicle the work of colleges focused on becoming more learning-centered institutions. Learning Abstracts features a variety of aspects of Learning College work, including but not limited to (1) programs and services that create substantive change in individual learners; (2) profiles of activities that engage learners as full partners in the learning process, assuming primary responsibility for their own choices; (3) efforts to create as many options for learning as possible, with a special focus on collaborative learning activities; (4) roles of learning facilitators as defined by the needs of the learners; (5) strategies to involve all college employees in supporting learning; (6) innovative uses of physical and virtual spaces to create effective, supportive learning environments; and (7) programs to document learning outcomes.
The two most recent issues of Learning Abstracts are available on the League website at http://www.league.org/publication/learning, along with the index of all articles. The full archive is available through iStream; individual articles may be purchased for a minimal fee by contacting Judy Greenfield, greenfield@league.org.
