Spotlight on the Website: Use of Real-World Data and Information in the Classroom

Welcome to Spotlight on the Website, League Connection’s newest feature highlighting one of the many educational resources freely available on the League website.

This month’s find is the League’s new publication, Use of Real-World Data and Information in the Classroom: Evolution of a K-14 Teacher Preparation Model, the final report on the Community College Pathways to Improved Teacher Preparation Through Technology (Pathways) Project. Funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Preparing Tomorrow’s Teachers to Use Technology program, the project focused on teacher training in unique and compelling uses of the internet in the classroom, as well as development of a website to house real-world learning objects created by faculty and evaluated through a peer-review process. The website and real-world learning objects are freely accessible at www.rwlo.org (registration is required).
