Department of Labor Workforce Training Curriculum
CD Package Available Soon

The Employment and Training Administration (ETA) will release a four-CD package of workforce development information, curriculum models, best practices, and marketing solutions for community colleges. Titled Grantee Solutions, the package offers 125 new and unique products created by colleges that have received grants from ETA. The products apply to all the high-growth industries targeted by the Department of Labor as the industries promising the highest economic future returns for America. Included are products for advanced manufacturing, health care, and a dozen additional industry sectors. The CDs will be given to attendees at the Beyond Boundaries, the 2007 Workforce Innovations Conference (Kansas City, July 17-19). If you are unable to attend but want the CD package, send your request to Russ Hamm at the League (hamm@league.org). Limited copies will be available following the conference.

The conference offers information and models for colleges and their local workforce partners. With the intent to prepare stakeholders to meet the demands of the 21st century marketplace, the conference helps regional partners as they develop strategies that go beyond boundaries and limitations, whether those are historical, geographical, political, or financial. Committed to the belief that it is essential that regional partners work collaboratively to develop the talent of their workers and that the workforce system becomes the catalyst for an educated and prepared workforce, Workforce Innovations 2007 will explore ways in which key partners, including business, economic development, and education and workforce systems, can collaborate and innovate to break down boundaries and create a competitive advantage. Registration information and descriptions of sessions and speakers are available at www.workforceinnovations.org.
