Learning College Summit Proposal Deadline March 12

Submit your proposal online for the Learning College Summit, June 24-27, 2007, in Dallas, Texas. The deadline for submitting proposals is March 12. Online registration is also available, with early registration discounts in effect until May 24. The 2007 Learning College Summit is hosted by Dallas County Community College District.

New League Books Focus on Disaster Preparedness, Architecture for Learning, and Career Pathways

Three new League publications were released Sunday, March 4, at the League's Innovations conference in New Orleans. The new titles include Hoping for the Best While Preparing for the Worst: Disasters, Emergencies, and the Community College, edited by Alice W. Villadsen and Gerardo E. de los Santos; From Classrooms to Learning Spaces, The Cross Papers, Number 10, by Michael Schoop; and Career Pathways as a Systemic Framework: Rethinking Education for Student Success in Colleges and Careers, jointly authored by the College and Career Transitions Initiative and the Breaking Through Initiative.

 

The Cross Papers Fellowship 2007-2008
Call for Proposals

Practitioners and scholars of community college teaching and learning are invited to submit proposals for The Cross Papers Fellowship. Endowed by K. Patricia Cross, the Fellowship continues a 10-year tradition of essays written for community college faculty, and providing practical teaching and learning strategies and the theory and research behind them. The deadline for submitting proposals is April 30, 2007.

The League’s 2006-2007 Innovation of the Year
Competition Open

League Alliance members are invited to participate in the League’s 2006-2007 Innovation of the Year competition. The award celebrates successful innovations of community college faculty and staff, and winning innovations are featured on the League’s website.
