League Members Invited to Participate in
Study of Institutional Research, Planning, Analysis, and
Assessment Activities

League for Innovation members are invited to participate in an important survey that the Association for Institutional Research (AIR) is undertaking along with the Center for the Study of Higher Education at Penn State University. You may have heard about the survey already, and many thanks to those of you who have completed it. If you haven’t heard of the survey, or just haven’t had a chance to respond, here’s your chance to participate!

This online survey is designed to help understand the practice of institutional research, planning, assessment, analysis, and decision support across the United States and the globe. Note that this is a survey of offices, not of individuals or institutions. The researchers welcome and encourage multiple responses from institutions that have more than one office engaged in these types of activities. However, only one response from each office is needed.

Community college participation in the study is vital. Researchers hope to get 40 percent of the total responses from community colleges, reflecting the percentage of all U.S. colleges that are two-year public institutions. The study also welcomes responses from colleges outside the United States. Please note that some of the questions on the survey are specific to U.S. colleges; simply skip any questions that are not applicable to your institution.

Responses are requested by no later than August 29, when the team at Penn State will begin data analysis efforts.

The confidentiality of responses will be protected by SSL encryption, and responses will be displayed only in aggregated summaries, without identifying individuals or institutions, except by categories like type and size.

To complete the online survey, please follow the link below, a special URL that has been set up for members of the League. If you have already completed the survey using a different link that was emailed to you, don’t use this link.

A PDF version of the survey is available from the first page, so that you may download and print the survey to assist in planning your responses.

If you have any questions, please send an email to airsurveys@airweb2.org.
